2021年　活動報告

スリークロス教会に私たちの気持ちが届きました。
先日のツアーが開始される前までの寄付金、

総額692,500円（€5,235.19）が

無事にフィンランドのイマトラ教区に着金いたしました！

2020年12月から開始され寄付金受付を開始し、2021年8月までにご寄付いただいたお金です。

8月から10月12日現在に至るまで、２ヶ月と少しの間にすでに40万円以上のご寄付をいただいております。勢いが少しづつですが出てきております！

The Architectural Works of Alvar Aalto – a Human Dimension to the Modern MovementUNESCO

The components of the series settle in the industrialised and mechanised society of the modern era and in the ideas of the global Modern Movement responding to its challenges. Architect Alvar Aalto’s (1898 – 1976) works are considered masterpieces of the architectural heritage of this movement. The architectural features and special expression of the works have been created in close interaction and dialogue with the international Modern Movement, and their impact continues in modern contemporary architecture. The works include iconic modernistic buildings, sites and areas that have influenced the formation and development of Modern Movement and modernism in Finland, in the Nordic countries and globally. The works are masterful in taking people’s feelings and senses into account and in expressing these by means of architecture, and the works have become an integral part of international modernism.

The modifiable spaces at the Church of Three Crosses (1955-1958) form a series of sculptural spaces, where connections to nature are immediate and strong and where there are an endless number of alternative places for encounters between the community and the individual.

ALVAR AALTO’S CHURCH of the Three Crosses in Vuoksenniska, Imatra, is one of Finland’s most significant works of modern architecture. The building, completed in 1958, has been closed since last autumn because it has suffered persistent moisture damage and would require urgent and extensive repairs.

When walking around the church, the white-plastered brick facade and the green-patinated copper roof converge alternatingly in free, softly arching shapes and straight lines. Behind the modern form, however, one finds the ingredients of a traditional church: a tower, a chancel, a sacristy, and an entrance lobby in the location where in a traditional church would have been the porch. Aalto’s intuitive and innovative church architecture also had a social dimension. He sought the holistic well-being of both the individual and the community when designing the multi-purpose church for the town’s factory community.

イマトラのヴオクセニスカにある3つの十字架のアルヴァアールト教会は、フィンランドで最も重要な近代建築作品の1つです。 1958年に完成したこの建物は、湿気による損傷が続き、緊急かつ大規模な修理が必要になるため、昨年の秋から閉鎖されています。
アールトの直感的で革新的な教会建築には社会的側面もあります。彼は町や工場、個人それぞれのコミュニティ全体の幸福を求め、多目的教会を設計しました。

この度、アルヴァ・アアルトの代表作、スリークロス教会の現地オンラインツアーの開催が決定しました！！

教会の現状を知っていただき、修繕・再建の寄付にご賛同いただくため、現地のアアルト財団やDOCOMOMOなどのご協力により、 開催させていただくことになりました。

このツアーは、立ち入り禁止になってしまった協会を巡ることができ、 アアルトの設計を体感できるとても貴重な時間になるはずです。
